Inis Meain is the middle of the three main Aran Islands in Galway Bay on the west coast of Ireland. It has a population of about 160. Yeats, Joyce and Synge are just a few writers inspired by the stark remoteness of this island. It is home to the world-famous Inis Meain Knitting Company, whose wares have caught the attention of global high-end retailers such as Barney’s and Saks.
